trendy clothing

My teenage daughter has wonderful taste in trendy clothing. She always seems to know what will look good on her and what will not. At the same time she always picks clothing that is about to become trendy clothing. I don’t know how she does it. A couple of weeks ago she picked up a pair of pants and matched it with a long sleeved light sweater with an unusual pattern on it. She added an odd looking belt and a pair of high healed half boots she called granny boots. This week that same get up was featured on a morning TV show as one of the best trendy clothing looks out there. She did not even pick up everything at the same place or store.

I know for a fact that she picked up one piece online at a store called Don Blyth that is located at www.thelastboutique.com/. I am quite impressed with her ability to always be able to pick trendy clothing. I have to admit I think my teen years would have gone quite differently if I had her confidence and ability to predict trendy clothing. I was always the fashion follower, never the fashion leader like her. I do envy her early clothing savvy. The funny part is that she claims she gets it from me.

She thinks that I am always in trendy clothing, for my age. Not that she has let me shop with her or help pick out her clothing. She just follows my cues and fashion sense when she buys for herself. I remember what it was like struggling to find clothing I liked, and looked good on me on a limited budget. I taught myself to buy smart. So even though my daughter says I buy trendy clothing I am actually buying things I like, that will look good on me and still look good in a year. I like long lived versatile clothing. Quality and comfort is more important to me than if it is trendy clothing or not.

I tried to teach my daughter to buy not what everyone else was wearing but what looked good and would last more than a few weeks. Quality was more important than quantity. Buy something that looks good and is going to last and you cannot go wrong. She said that is what she does now but somehow always seems to be in fashion. I know she could use a nice trendy clothing accessory. I decided to give her a little black purse that will stay as fashionable as she is, a Gigi Chantal™ Large Black Purse with Croco Trim. I found it at Don Blyth and I knew it would be perfect for her.
