I love flipping through the pages of fashion magazines. Some magazines show trendy clothing of future seasons; while others reveal trendy clothing that can be worn now. Many magazines that advertise high-end trendy clothing, show off fashion clothing as if it were an art.
Though I'm often fascinated by beautiful materials and colors, I'm a practical girl when it comes to trendy clothing. I simply prefer the basics. I'm inspired by Audrey Hepburn's little black dress. Or the snug sweaters worn by Marilyn Monroe. I adore pearls worn by Grace Kelly. Or the chic sunglasses that Jackie O. made famous. Though once considered trendy clothing at one point in time, I prefer the clothing that is timeless.
Now, I'm not saying that I shun trendy clothing. Every now and then, I find a piece that compliments my look and shape. Ultimately, my number one fashion rule is to wear clothes and not have them wear me. When it comes to trends, I feel that some women forget that clothing exists first as a basic need and secondly as a way to enhance their figure or overall presence.
