I remember buying formal dresses for school dances. I used to go to Homecoming and Prom when I was in school and had to have a formal dress for them. When I finished eighth grade, there was an Eighth Grade Dance that I needed a semi formal dress for even. I didn't go with a "date" but my group of friends all went together. There was six of us so we paired off in twos and went in then hung out together inside. We all looked cute in our semi formal dresses, I think. My older brother actually escorted me and my friend to the door and then left. People thought he was my boyfriend, eew he's my brother, I thought! Of course in high school things were different and I had to have formal dresses for homecomings and proms. I remember shopping for the formal dresses and thinking how they had to be perfect. If it didn't fit exactly right, no way was I buying the formal dress. It was fun shopping for formal dresses.
