I definitely feel more comfortable in casual attire but every few weeks it is cool to bring out those button ups sitting well pressed in the corner of the closet. I had to employ formal dress for the first time in a month after getting a call from a friend who I thought wouldn’t be moving to the area for another week. I was wrong and he had already settled into a new apartment about 25 minutes away. He has family in the area and one of his cousin’s was throwing a birthday party at a swanky lounge a couple cities over.

He asked if I wanted to go. This was about 6pm and I was sitting at the dinner table slopping down chicken alfredo in sweat pants and an undershirt. Hesitant for a second, I agreed and ran into the shower. He was coming to pick me up in an hour. After cleaning up, I stared at the formal dress shirts and pants hanging in the closet. The party turned out to be lots of fun, trendy clothing and all. The highlight was catching up with an old friend.
