My daughter and a group of her friends are going out after graduation and they have all decided to wear the formal dress that they wore for the prom this year. When my daughter asked if she could wear the formal dress that I’d ordered her online after graduation tomorrow night, I honestly wasn’t sure I was crazy about the idea. I could understand her wanting to look fantastic while she was out on the town with a group of friends, but the formal dress wasn’t one of those things that one would generally wear out on the town, but instead would be saved and used for more formal events.
Even though I wasn’t keen on the idea, I could see how much it meant to her, and I caved and told her she could wear the formal dress as long as she promised not to do something crazy like go swimming in it. She assured me that was the last thing on the agenda. All the kids decided that they’d get together and go to dinner after graduation and decided it would be fun to wear their prom clothing. I may even show up at the restaurant with a camera in hand and capture the moment for her to have later. After all, there is only one high school graduation.
