This year my daughter is a senior in High School, so the Senior Prom means a great deal to her. Even though it's not until the beginning of May, she's already started looking online for a formal dress to wear. I have offered to help her find a formal dress, but each and every time we start looking together, I notice that she tends to roll her eyes at every formal dress that I choose, so last week I gave her a budget and told her to come back to me when she had several ideas and we'd choose a formal dress from one of those.

I knew that the two of us would never agree on a formal dress, so I figured that if she found several choices, that I would have the final say out of the ones she chooses, although I know my daughter well enough to know that she'll be pushing for the formal dress that she likes the most. Sure enough, that was the case. She came back to me with a list of four dresses, and surprisingly I liked three of them. One was black and out of the question for me simply because it seemed more like a winter formal dress than something you'd wear to a prom. Eventually we both agreed on the white dress, which is actually short but beautiful. She said that since she'd chosen the dress, that she'd let me choose the accessories, but that she wanted something classy and with color. I was thinking that fuchsia would be a great color to go with the dress, and I found a great pair of shoes in that color almost immediately. She loved them and we ordered them as well. That left only one thing- the handbag.
