When my sister turned sixteen, I remember how much she wanted to have a party where all the girls would be wearing a formal dress. My sister has always been a very special person and my mom really wanted to go all out for her, but at that time money was short and a formal dress party might be pushing the envelope a bit too much. However, unbeknownst to my sister, everyone in the house tightened their belts for a month and at the end of it we were able to surprise my sister with a formal dress birthday party. She had no idea what was going, she didn’t even know we’d already called all her friends to let them know about the formal dress party and how they were all ready to show up in their best formal dresses. On the day of her birthday she still had no idea we’d setup a nice formal dress birthday party for her and as she came into the house, after my mom took her to the mall so we could turn the house into the formal dress party, the look of amazement and happiness as she saw each one of her friends in a formal dress while seeing a brand new formal dress hanging on the door for her was worth all the sacrifice we had to endure for a month.
